What's new at the library

New Books at the Library

JUST IN!

Dangerous Book for Boys, written by Conn and Hal Iggulden, is a guidebook , aimed at boys "from eight to eighty." It covers around eighty topics, from building a treehouse to catching rabbits and how to understand girls, to secret ink and the five knots every boy should know how to tie. This book will inspire the boy in all men.

Blind your Ponies, at first glance, you'll think this book is about basketball in a small town. As you read, however, you'll be drawn into a story that's much more than that. As the publisher says on the back cover: Willow Creek, Montana. With bold strokes on a large canvas, Stanley West has drawn an entire village of curious and outlandish characters who have been cast so vividly that one can see them, hear them, laugh with them--people as real as relatives.

Water for Elephants is a historical novel by Sara Gruen The novel centers on Jacob Jankowski and his experiences in a traveling circus called The Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. Set during the Great Depression of the 1930s, the book tells the story of a young man who leaves his life as a Cornell University veterinary student and happens to jump onto a train, which houses the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

The library just received a new series of books called the Fountain Creek Chronicles by Tamera Alexander.  This is a series of three books,  Rekindled, Revealed and Remembered set in Colorado before it was a state.  Three couples have to survive the rugged territory.

We also received a new book by Anne Kreamer called Going Gray.  One woman's journey to discovering herself as she resolved to allow her hair to go gray.

Playing for Pizza is a new John Grisham book about a third-string NFL quarterback that messes up in the final minutes of the AFC championship game and ends up playing for the Parma Panthers in the Italian National Football league.   This book is a charming fish out of water story.

One night at a Bad Inn is a true story based in Eastern Montana.  It is the true story of two colorful immigrant families who lived through extraordinary times.  Lots of intriguing history through the lives of  very intriguing people.

Three Cups of Tea is an account of one man's experiences in Pakistan after he failed to climb K2.  He was sheltered in a village for seven weeks and promised to return to build the impoverished town's first school.  Captivating and suspenseful, with engrossing accounts of both hostilities and unlikely friendships, this book will win many reader's hearts.

Come check out these new books and others at the library. Each month we receive  books on loan from the Stanford Library.  This month we have a Tracie Peterson series set in Montana, David Baldacci, Robin Cook, Catherine Coulter, Debbie Macomber and several others just to name a few.  We also have several large print westerns on loan at this time.
